Our Mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.
In our worship, we desire to surrender to and be fully devoted to one God—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We are passionate about what is important to God.
Jesus calls those who follow Him to love God wholeheartedly and love their neighbors as themselves. Our desire is to demonstrate to the world the extravagant love of God in the person of Jesus Christ.
We have been entrusted with a lifesaving and transforming message that we must share with others. Our witness is bold, compelling and fearless. Our mission advances when individuals become disciples of Jesus Christ and join God’s mission to make more disciples.
Our Beliefs
As members of the Global Methodist Denomination, we uphold the following core beliefs:
- Scriptural Authority: The Transitional Discipline emphasizes the authority of Holy Scripture as the primary rule for faith, morals, and service (¶ 104) and reaffirms this throughout its doctrinal standards.
- Grace: The importance of God’s grace is highlighted extensively, particularly in the Wesleyan Way of Salvation, which includes prevenient, justifying, and sanctifying grace (¶ 102).
- Faith and Works: The document supports the idea that faith in Jesus Christ leads to a transformed life marked by good works and social holiness (¶ 102.5, ¶ 103).
- Sacraments: The sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion are affirmed as means of grace instituted by Christ (¶ 106, Article XVI).
- Sanctification: The process of sanctification, including entire sanctification and Christian perfection, is a key emphasis, stating that believers are continually growing in holiness and love (¶ 102.6, Article XI).
Our Heritage
Our connection to John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement, is foundational to our identity. Wesley’s teachings on grace, faith, and social justice continue to inspire and guide us. His emphasis on personal and social holiness, as well as the importance of small group fellowship, shapes our church community and practices.
Our Community
Lithia Springs Methodist Church has been a cornerstone of the Lithia Springs community for over 150 years. We are committed to serving our neighbors and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can grow in faith and love. Our church offers a variety of programs and ministries for all ages, including worship services, Sunday School, prayer groups, men’s and women’s fellowship groups, and youth programs.
