Yesterday’s sermon focused on Luke 4:21-30, where Jesus returned to His hometown of Nazareth and declared that He was the fulfillment of Scripture. Instead of celebrating this truth, the people rejected Him. They could not accept that the boy they had watched grow up was the Messiah.
This passage challenges us to ask: Have we become too familiar with Jesus? Do we read Scripture without truly hearing its call on our lives? Just as the people of Nazareth missed out on God’s blessing because of their hardened hearts, we too risk overlooking His work when we assume we already know everything.
This week, let’s ask God to open our eyes and soften our hearts so we don’t miss His voice in the everyday moments of our lives.
