OPENING HYMN*
“I Stand Amazed in the Presence” #122

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH*
The Apostles’ Creed #691
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
    creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
    He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
    and born of the Virgin Mary.
    He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
    was crucified, died, and was buried.
    He descended to the dead.
    On the third day He rose again.
    He ascended into heaven,
    and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
    He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
    the holy catholic Church,
    the communion of saints,
    the forgiveness of sins,
    the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
Amen.

SCRIPTURE* Jonah 2:1-10
Bart Arther

 Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the belly of the fish, 2 saying,

“I called out to the Lord, out of my distress,
and he answered me;
out of the belly of Sheol I cried,
and you heard my voice.
3 For you cast me into the deep,
into the heart of the seas,
and the flood surrounded me;
all your waves and your billows
passed over me.
4 Then I said, ‘I am driven away
from your sight;
yet I shall again look
upon your holy temple.’
5 The waters closed in over me to take my life;
the deep surrounded me;
weeds were wrapped about my head
6 at the roots of the mountains.
I went down to the land
whose bars closed upon me forever;
yet you brought up my life from the pit,
O Lord my God.
7 When my life was fainting away,
I remembered the Lord,
and my prayer came to you,
into your holy temple.
8 Those who pay regard to vain idols
forsake their hope of steadfast love.
9 But I with the voice of thanksgiving
will sacrifice to you;
what I have vowed I will pay.
Salvation belongs to the Lord!”

10 And the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah out upon the dry land.

Leader: This is the Word of God for the people of God.
People: Thanks be to God.

We want to extend our sincere gratitude to the many volunteers who came out last Friday and Saturday and helped prepare for and who worked our Fall Festival. We couldn’t have done it without you! From setting up tables, organizing craft kits, preparing food, and manning stations, your dedication to our church and your enthusiasm allowed us to present ourselves to the community in the way that we had envisioned, despite the rain. Thank you again, for your generosity of time, spirit, and resources. We really do have an amazing and loving church family.

“I want to express my sincere appreciation to each and every one of you for your generous support of the Pregnancy Resource Center’s Walk For Life campaign. Together, our church raised an incredible $1,630, which will make a meaningful difference in the lives of the families the PRC serves. Your commitment to this cause reflects the love and compassion we share as a community. It’s inspiring to see how we can come together to support those in need and advocate for life. Thank you once again for your generosity, kindness, dedication, and love. Together, we are making a positive impact!”
