Responsive Call to Worship*
Psalm 116:12-19
What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me?
I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord.
I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.
Truly I am your servant, Lord; I serve you just as my mother did; you have freed me from my chains.
I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the Lord.
I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people, in the courts of the house of the Lord—in your midst, Jerusalem.
Praise the Lord.

Affirmation of Faith*
The Apostles’ Creed
№ 691
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

“In This Very Room”
Verse 1 In this very room there's quite enough love for one like me, And in this very room there's quite enough joy for one like me, And there's quite enough hope and quite enough power To chase away any gloom, For Jesus, Lord Jesus, is in this very room. Verse 2 In this very room there's quite enough love for all of us, And in this very room there's quite enough joy for all of us, And there's quite enough hope and quite enough power To share wherever we go, For Jesus, Lord Jesus, is in this very room. Verse 3 In this very room there's quite enough love for all the world, And in this very room there's quite enough joy for all the world, And there's quite enough hope and quite enough power To reach to all of the earth, For Jesus, Lord Jesus, is in this very room.

Deuteronomy 8:1-20
Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land the Lord promised on oath to your ancestors. Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.
He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years. Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.
Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him. For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills; a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey; a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing; a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills.
When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you. Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day.
Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
He led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions. He brought you water out of hard rock. He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you.
You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed. Like the nations the Lord destroyed before you, so you will be destroyed for not obeying the Lord your God.
Leader: This is the Word of God for the people of God.
People: Thanks be to God.

Children’s Church Volunteers Needed
Our Children’s Ministry is looking for volunteers who would be willing to serve occasionally in Children’s Church. Volunteers will lead the Bible lesson for the day, but all lessons will be provided in advance and all crafts and supplies will be prepared for you. This is a wonderful opportunity to help guide and encourage our children as they grow in their faith. Even serving periodically can make a meaningful difference. If you are interested in helping, please contact the church office or speak with Jess Arther.
Mobile Food Pantry Ministry
We are excited to have launched our Mobile Food Pantry Ministry in partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank and the Good Samaritan Center of Douglasville. Food distribution begins at 2:00 PM. This drive-through ministry provides fresh food to families in our community. Volunteers arrive at 11:00 AM and are needed for setup, produce bagging, traffic coordination, and distribution. The pantry is held every other month on the third Saturday (June 20, August 15, October 17, December 19). If you are interested in helping, please contact the church office.
