Today, the children concluded the Abraham, the Covenant Tracker series with part three. They explored how the covenant between Abraham and God influenced Abraham’s actions and shaped his loyalty to God. Through this lesson, the children discovered:
- Loyalty to God: The children learned about the importance of being loyal to God, just as Abraham was. They saw how Abraham’s loyalty led him to make wise choices, such as refusing gifts from the king of Sodom but accepting them from Melchizedek, the king of Salem.
- The Concept of Tithing: The lesson introduced the idea of giving a portion of what we have back to God as a way of acknowledging Him as our King, just as Abraham gave one-tenth of everything to Melchizedek.
- Faithfulness Rewarded: The children learned that because of Abraham’s faithfulness, God ensured that Abraham lacked nothing and had everything he needed.
The lesson emphasized that just as God honored His covenant with Abraham, we too are called to be loyal and faithful to God in our own lives.
