Isaiah: The Willing Tracker

Summary of the Lesson

Memory Verse: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” – Isaiah 6:3 (ESV)

This week’s lesson focuses on Isaiah, a prophet who showed an incredible willingness to serve God. The children learn from Isaiah 6:1–8, where Isaiah receives a powerful vision of the Lord, leading him to respond with humility and obedience.

In this passage, Isaiah sees God seated on His heavenly throne, surrounded by angels, who declare, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts.” The sight is overwhelming, and Isaiah realizes his own sinfulness. However, God sends an angel to purify Isaiah, symbolizing God’s grace and forgiveness. When God asks, “Whom shall I send?” Isaiah eagerly responds, “Here am I. Send me!”

This lesson teaches children that:

  • God is holy and powerful.
  • We must recognize our own need for forgiveness.
  • When God calls, we should be ready and willing to serve.

Moral Lessons for Children

  1. Recognizing God’s Holiness – Just as Isaiah was in awe of God, we should remember that God is great, powerful, and worthy of praise.
  2. Confessing Our Sins – Isaiah acknowledged his sinfulness, and in the same way, we should humbly admit when we have done wrong.
  3. Saying “Yes” to God – When God calls us to do something—whether it’s helping a friend, praying for someone, or sharing about Jesus—we should answer, “Here am I! Send me!”

Encouraging Children to Serve

Parents can encourage their children to practice Isaiah’s willingness in everyday life by:

  • Serving others (helping at home, donating to those in need).
  • Being quick to say “Yes” to God in prayer and worship.
  • Memorizing Isaiah 6:8 as a reminder to be ready when God calls.
