Josiah, the Righteous Tracker

This morning in Children’s Sunday School, we learned about Josiah, the Righteous Tracker!

Josiah became king when he was just eight years old, but even at a young age, he chose to follow God instead of the bad examples set by his father and grandfather. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord (2 Kings 22:2), even when the people around him didn’t.

When Josiah was older, he ordered the restoration of the temple, and during the process, the Book of the Law (God’s instructions) was discovered. When he heard what it said, Josiah realized that the people had not been following God’s commands. He immediately repented and sought to do what was right.

Josiah led the people to:
Destroy idols and false gods
Renew their commitment to God
Celebrate Passover again

Because Josiah was humble and faithful, God promised him peace during his lifetime.

💡 Lesson for Us 💡
Even though Josiah was young, he stood for what was right. We, too, can choose to follow God no matter what others are doing. When we learn something is wrong, we should be quick to turn back to God, just like Josiah did.

📖 Key Verse: “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” – Psalm 20:7

Let’s follow Josiah’s example and trust in God alone! 🙌
