Yesterday, our church celebrated the first Sunday of Advent with the beautiful Hanging of the Greens service. This special time marked the beginning of our journey toward Christmas, as we adorned the sanctuary with evergreen boughs, the Advent wreath, poinsettias, and the Christmas tree, each symbolizing Christ’s eternal life and the hope He brings. Through Scripture readings, carols, and prayers, we were reminded of the true meaning of Advent—a season of expectation, preparation, and reflection. This week, let us make room in our hearts for the coming King, inviting His light into the ‘dark winters’ of our lives.
